WOW! October has been super busy and Darren and Renee’s wedding was our last wedding for the month. It also saw us back at Tebbutts Observatory – which is such a gorgeous wedding location in the Hawkesbury.
You may remember that October was a bit of a rainy month and the day of Darren and Renee’s wedding was no exception. Now we love dramatic clouds and it looked like the rain was holding off but just as we stepped out onto the lawns at the Hawkesbury Sebel it began to sprinkle, then it rained a little harder (so we took cover) and then it POURED!! The storm blew over quickly and we didn’t see any rain for the rest of day – phew!
Darren and Renee are our kind of people. They are sweet, they love their family and friends and they are FUN! Their wedding was relaxed and personal – oh and educational!! – we learnt about Geocache’s – it’s kinda like treasure hunting (Darren’s a little obsessed with them.)
Renee’s attention to details were simply stunning. She worked with her florist Kat from Petals and Leaves to come up with some gorgeous floral designs for the bouquets and the table centrepieces. The other details in the reception were simple and elegant: the amazing cake topper was a little birds nest with matching ‘Mr and Mrs’ eggs and in keeping with the bird theme, the place settings were gorgeous little paper birds with guests names printed on them. To top it off Darren and Renee booked a band – live music really adds something to a reception. Their first dance was to Etta James’ ‘At Last’ – I was totally impressed by the singer who also played the violin intro – so cool!!!
We had a blast at this wedding and loved being able to share the day with Darren and Renee and their family and friends.
Hope you enjoy some of our favourites from the wedding… oh – and the ’30’ ball in the photograph below… that’s the date they got married.
