A little bit of STEAMPUNK to continue our series ‘I was late to the wedding.’
Have you heard of Steampunk?
Here’s how wikipedia explains it “Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction, alternate history, and speculative fiction that came into prominence during the 1980s and early 1990s. Steampunk involves a setting where steam power is still widely used—usually the Victorian eraBritain—that incorporates elements of either science fiction or fantasy. Works of steampunk often feature anachronistictechnology or futuristic innovations as Victorians may have envisioned them; based on a Victorian perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, art, etc. This technology may include such fictional machines as those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne.”
So there you have it… simple yes? lol! The idea is starting to pick up a little here in Australia, so I’m just puttin it out there… I would love to photograph any steampunk weddings you may have in the works ;) Hey even some steampunk portraits would be kinda cool – feel free to contact me about these too.
I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped out on the day. It’s been months in the planning and we did it! The rain held out and thank god it didn’t snow – even though it felt cold enough that it should!
