Kathryn and Rod’s wedding is the second thing I have blogged this week with a blue motif however unlike my moody blue styled shoot this day was full of joy, laughter and no second thoughts! You can see my blue styled shoot here.
Beautiful Kathryn wore a retro inspired tea-length gown with blue detailing and a fine belt. Her bridesmaids were non-matching blue gowns and the bouquets had beautiful depth with silver dusty miller and blues for a pretty, feminine look (Flowers by Petals and Leaves). Even Kathryn’s walking stick was adorned with blue toned jewels to tie in the day’s overall theme – got to love a bride with an eye for detail!
You might recall Kathryn and Rod from their Vivid engagement shoot earlier this year. We had such an enjoyable afternoon together and I knew that they were a special couple and have much looked forward to shooting their wedding since then.
I was also eagerly awaiting to shoot at their wedding venue, Chateau Elan in the Hunter Valley. I had heard fabulous things about it and was keen to experience it for myself. The venue boasts an on-property stone Carriage House which is a chapel and it was absolutely gorgeous – you can see it in the pictures below. I don’t normally rave about venues too much but I have to thank the staff for their hugely hospitable and warm service including escorting us around the venue.
Also a few other fun and funky details of note – the topsy-turvy cake and blue-themed dessert table by Sugar Rush, the totally cool golf buggy transport and the stunning hair and make up by the day spa team from Chateau Elan. Most importantly the absolutely in-love and on top of the world happy bride and groom. Two people who deserve every happiness together – thanks for sharing your day with us.
