Kangaroo Valley is one of my most favourite wedding locations, I love the amazing landscapes, the infinite possibilities of the reception venues and the cool vibe that every wedding we’ve ever shot there seems to have. Couples that get married here seem to be able to relax and really enjoy every moment of their day – just how we feel every wedding should be!
Lizi and Lisa’s wedding was an intimate ceremony and an awesome party! It featured a cast of friends and family who all contributed their talents to achieve an amazing array of DIY details including colourful flags and bunting, hundreds of umbrellas upturned as lighting and beautiful native flowers.
Other less traditional details included that the two brides met before the ceremony for a ‘first look’ where they would have a private, intimate moment seeing one another dressed for the occasion. This allowed them to then enter the ceremony together and I think it’s a wonderful idea for both a special shared experience between just the couple as well as a beautiful photo opportunity.
A ring warming welcomed guests involvement in the ceremony proceedings where the couple’s wedding jewellery was passed through the hands of every attendee (hence warming them!) and added to the heartfelt atmosphere and as well as the sentimental meaning of the rings.
Lizi and Lisa’s wedding dream team of vendors included dresses by (red) Carl Kapp and (silver) Bianca Spender, ceremony music by Nick Begbie and Naomi Crellin, who make up half of The Idea of North, catering by Katrina Endean at Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat, lighting by Tom Wright, Music by DJ SistaP, Makeup Artist Katie Barwise, Ceremony Officiant: Hand in Hand Celebrant and Hairstylist: Elise Idiens of Brad Ngata. And this dream team combined to create one of the most beautiful, memorable and exhilarating parties of a wedding we’ve ever been witness to!
Lizi and Lisa, I wish you love and happiness as you continue your journey together. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your special day.
Thank you also to Elise and Fe who did a stellar job shooting this wedding for Angelica Peady Photography.
At Angelica Peady Photography we believe in love.
And if you are in love and want to be married (no matter your age, race, gender or any other silly factor that really doesn’t matter if you know you’ve met ‘the one’) we’d like to be your wedding photographer.
We believe in marriage equality and if we sound like the kind of photographer you’d like to invite to shoot your special day we look forward to hearing from you. We are based in Sydney and service regional and CBD locations. Have cameras, will travel :)
