I really love the Blue Mountains and have enjoyed shooting here so many times. Weddings, engagements, family portraits and more weddings – you name it, I’ve shot in there. The Blue Mountains have to many different, wonderful locations – breathtaking cliffs, hidden green wonderland and also lovely manicured gardens I always manage to find another special places that results in amazing imagery.
Rhiannon & Todd came to me looking for some couples portraits to celebrate their upcoming wedding. Engagements are such a unique time in a couples life – a believe it’s a place of anticipation and excitement and it’s really one of the only times where the event is truly just for you and your beloved. Weddings are of course equally special but are a time that also celebrates family and can have more influences and people involved that the fabulous intimacy of your engagement – hence why I feel photos of this part of the journey is so important. It’s just you and nothing more!
My style of engagement portraiture is natural, relaxed and intimate. It’s gimmick free and focuses on capturing the emotion and connection between the two subjects. Throw in an awesome location be it an Autumn canvas, snowy blizzard, a city backdrop or a rainy day and that’s all I feel is needed to create superb, timeless images that you will treasure for many years to come.
Rhiannon and Todd have a wonderful ease as a couple and their naturalness and love for one another translated beautifully into their shoot. The laughter is real, the feelings are real and the moments are authentic. And that’s why the photos are magnificent – and how I know these two are going to sail through life together, laughing, loving and being a perfect little team.
