From the moment I began my career as a Sydney wedding photographer, despite many other things that have changed I have always stayed firm in my belief that every wedding should be ‘your day, your way’. Whatever the season, style, vibe or theme of your wedding if it is what you as a couple I believe it is what you should have! I’ve as a result found myself embraced by many offbeat and non traditional brides including wedding festivals at Kangaroo Valley, same-sex weddings, steam punk weddings and gothic influenced weddings. What these weddings all have in common is that the couples really celebrated their passions and their uniqueness and in my books this is what makes for the very best and happiest days!
Which brings me to the recent Newcastle wedding at Merewether Beach of Rhiannon and Todd. (See their Blue Mountains engagement shoot here!) Whilst their big day was not wholly offbeat Rhiannon marched to her own fabulous beat in a short, pretty wedding ‘party dress’ as opposed to a more traditional gown. Still in white but with a stunning monochromatic belt detail I loved her personal style and the personality it brought to the day! Go girl! Topped off with long natural hair and oh-so-sexy shoes Rhiannon was a show stopping bride!
Rhiannon and Todd were married in a church in Newcastle East and their awesome ‘party’ reception was held at Merewether Beach Surf Club. Rhiannon’s frock was by Maggie Sottero and dapper Todd was head to toe Hugo Boss. The bridesmaid’s gowns were from Seduce and the gorgeous florals were by Peter Herd Florist.
I love the moody feel of the first images, the posing and the cliff top location, a winning combination no doubt! As you view these Newcastle wedding photos you will see a great example of the Angelica Peady Photography approach to shooting. We love images that are posed and show the very best of you and your partner but we also love a journalistic approach; capturing the day unfolding naturally. Preserving all the real moment – the laughs, the stolen kisses, the smiles and the emotions, as this truly is your day, your way. I guess we love the best of both worlds – and we know how to make this happen on your wedding day! So if we sound like a photographer who might be your style please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Congratulations Todd and Rhiannon. We wish you love and happiness and all good things as you journey through life together.
