Blue Mountains Wedding Videography – Wes and Alyssa’s Short Wedding Film

If you’re a regular follower of our blog, you would know that in 2013 we started to offer wedding videography to our photography clients. Today we’re pleased to present Wesley and Alyssa’s short film.

At Angelica Peady Photo and Film  our goal is to create a film that makes you smile and keep you and your friends coming back for more. These films are are set to music, so there’s no pressure to perform by getting your vows exactly right or evidence of the embarrassing story told during the best man’s speech. While we capture video from through the day, we have a documentary style that fits in so well with our wedding photography.

We’re loving this extra service that we can provide to our wedding clients and without further delay, here’s Wesley and Alyssa’s short wedding film…

Oh by the way – we do also offer full videography for weddings – just fill out our contact form to find out more.

{Kangaroo Valley Wedding Photography} Kylie and Martin marry at Kookaburra Hill, celebrate at Southhaven Farm

We always get excited when we get an enquiry for a Kangaroo Valley wedding, it’s a special place for me as I remember holidaying there as a child and as you can probably imagine, I have lots of great memories of this magical place. Weddings in the valley are so romantic, with guests travelling and spending the weekend away together – which is exactly what it meant to me all those years ago. So it was a great day when I met Kylie and Martin and they told me about a lovely property they had found close to the Kangaroo Valley township – Kookabura Hill.

Now the valley has it’s weather system and on this particular day, rain was predicted.  Martin kept a close eye on the BOM radar and thankfully their outdoor ceremony was a very sunny occasion (with clouds hovering patiently in the distance just waiting for the ceremony to end). I have to say there were plenty of special aspects to Kylie and Martin’s ceremony including bouquets and buttonholes that were freshly picked from the garden at Kookaburra Hill but the one that meant the most to them was being able to include Jase their dog in their ceremony – you will see by the photos Martin trained him very well and they trusted him an awful lot to have those wedding rings attached to his special ‘ring bearer’ collar :)

I like to dub Kylie and Martin’s wedding the ‘wedding of the bridges’ because all of our locations we visited were (yep you guessed it) bridges! – 3 of them! Of course the Hampton Bridge and then 2 extra bridges that are a little further our of town. We made use of that awesome red VW beetle from Kombi Celebrations and thankfully the weather held out for lots of convertible, top-down pictures. As soon as we jumped in the cars to head to the reception the heavens opened and the rain began to fall – perfect timing!!

Kylie and Martin, celebrated with their guests at Southhaven, eating delicious food catered by Duck Duck Goose (really! it was delicious!!) and had a fabulous time. It was a lovely intimate reception and Ben and I got to chat to lots of their friends and family – it was a pleasure to be included as part of their day.

Congratulations on your marriage and we wish you all the best for the many, many years together. xx

Kylie had this to say when she received her images:

“Thank you Angie and Ben for Capturing every moment of our wedding. You guys were both so easy to work with, friendly, relaxed but professional… and your photos are amazing :)

{Sydney Botanical Gardens Wedding Photography} Cheryl and Ian’s Herb Garden Wedding Ceremony

The more time we spent with Ian and Cheryl, the more we knew that this was going to be a fantastic wedding! Their instructions to us were ‘Let’s have Fun!’ – which was perfect because that’s exactly what we say to our couples!

They had planned an intimate wedding with their closest family and friends – everyone of which were in the bridal party. The ceremony was held in the Herb Garden in the Royal Sydney Botanical Gardens, it’s a great garden venue for small weddings and perfect for this small bridal party as everyone fit under the rotunda. The ceremony was officiated by Fiona King, AKA Alter Native Celebrant, a perfect fit for their ‘lets have fun’ instructions – she even combined some of her great ceremony traditions including a ring blessing, a hand fasting (with rainbow coloured ribbons), a family binding and a roll of the dice to determine who’d be the lucky one to bear witness on their certificate. Yes, it was a truly awesome ceremony and lots and lots of fun!!

After the ceremony, we weaved our way through the Sydney Botanical Gardens, accompanied by the rainbow gowned bridesmaids and groomsmen (not rainbow themed lol) – I have to say all those colours looked pretty awesome in the afternoon light! We took bubble wands for some extra added awesome-ness and everyone had fun – who doesn’t like bubbles right?? We then took Cheryl and Ian down towards the harbour, found some great foliage as backdrops along the way. We then made our way onto the Opera House Steps for a couple of sunset shots by the gorgeous Sydney Harbour. This wedding reminded me how great the gardens are for weddings – so many great backdrops – a photographers dream!! Once we were all photo-ed out, we took the white London cab back to the suite for the wedding party to begin.

Congratulations to Ian and Cheryl on putting such fun wedding together. It was a pleasure and an honour to share your day and we hope your life together is just as fun and colourful as your wedding day! (I have a feeling it will be!)

{Sydney Wedding Photography} Alyssia and James marry at Gledswood Homestead

You may remember James and Alyssia from their couples portrait a few weeks ago (which you can view here) and today we’re so excited to share their romantic summer wedding that took place at Gledswood Homestead and Winery, a gorgeous country location in Sydney’s South West.

This charming, historical location provided a perfect backdrop for their wedding day which began with an outdoor ceremony on Gledswood’s lakeside lawn. Guests were seated on rustic wooden benches to witness Alyssia and James share their vows underneath the arbor, draped in delicate, white chiffon. Their family and friends congratulated them with a shower of bubbles – we love it when our couples use confetti or bubbles as it always provides us with lots of opportunity for fun shots!

While their guests mingled at Gledswood Wine Bar, we walked through the grounds with Alyssia, James and their bridal party exploring the gorgeous country locations that surrounded the historic homestead. Gledswood has some lovely weathered wooden fences, sandstone paths and manicured gardens that made it easy to find photographic inspiration.

James and Alyssia joined their guests inside for the reception where the restaurant was decorated in an elegant white decor, complete with strings of lights and soft pink details. The brand new Mr and Mrs danced their first dance shortly after they entered the reception in what was probably the most romantic part of the day (apart from the ceremony of course)! Of course, there was plenty more dancing later in the evening and everyone had a blast on the dance-floor.

If love is indeed in the air, it was floating all-around the Gledswood homestead on the day of Alyssia and James’ nuptials. We wish them all the best and hope they stay happy in love for a long, long time.

{Central NSW Wedding Videography} Eliza and Stephen’s short wedding film

Eliza and Stephen were married earlier this year in Cullen Bullen on a family farm – you can view their wedding images here. Today though, we are excited to share their wedding film. It’s a short wedding film set to music that captures their wedding day.  It’s typical of the type of films we like to capture – short and sweet, that leave you coming back for more.

We love that video has added that extra element that enables us to create both still and moving images from our couples wedding day. There’s something great about video and something magical about photography and I think our couples are lucky that they can choose to have us capture both :)

{Sydney Couples Portrait Session} Ian and Cheryl pre wedding portraits in Penrith

It was another hot day in Penrith when Ian and Cheryl travelled to meet me at another one of my favourite locations for photo shoots – I think it got up over 30 degrees (which isn’t unusual for Penrith).

I’ve mentioned before that I think it’s a great idea for couples to consider a portrait shoot with me prior to their wedding. Cheryl and Ian even told me that it made them feel more at ease about their upcoming wedding by meeting me and seeing what it’s like being in front of the camera. We were able to go over their wedding plans and even come up with extra fun ideas for their wedding coverage.

{Couples Portrait Session} James and Alyssia

I met up with Alyssia and James on a warm summer’s afternoon for their couples portrait session. Yes, I might be biased but I have to say this was an awesome session at one of my most favourite locations! It’s not usual that if the day is warm enough, that I’ll get us all in the water and on this day, we were all up to our knees at some point lol – don’t worry I gave Alyssia and James notice that this could happen. I do remember another shoot at this same location where a couple went swimming for their engagement shoot - it was awesome!!!

So how about I show these images?? Here goes…

{Couples Portrait Session} Kylie and Martin at Lake Parramatta

If you’re a regular follower of our blog you may know that we often photograph our couples in an engagement / couples portrait session prior to their wedding. We think it’s a great way for us to get to know each other a little better prior to the wedding and it’s an excellent test run for being in front of the camera. We understand that most couples may not be used to being in front of a camera (that’s why we often arrange to do photoshoots ourselves – so we understand what it’s like to be in your position – and we get great photos of ourselves too!)

During these sessions Angie usually shows you how easy it is to have us photograph you. She’ll show you a few poses that you might be asked to do on the wedding day but mostly we show you how we create natural candid images by giving you a little direction and getting you comfortable around us and our cameras. Simple right? lol. Well… it kinda is :)

For Kylie and Martin’s engagement session we met up at Lake Parramatta (we’ve visited there before for Trudy and Jeremy’s engagement session). A lovely spot with some long grass and lots of natural sandstone that’s really accessible. We got to do a bit of exploring around the waterside to capture that golden afternoon light.

{Wedding Album} Melodie and Kurts Wedding Album

We received a lovely parcel in the post from our album suppliers a few weeks ago. I rarely share images of these albums and I thought it was about time that I showed you how gorgeous this album was. I love the colour that Melodie and Kurt chose for the album cover – it was a delicious mint leather and it’s really lovely to the touch. So beautiful!

At Angelica Peady Photo and Film, we design our wedding albums with a minimalist, modern look. Part of the design process is to have you select your favourite images and we select the images we feel work with your favourites to tell the story from your wedding. You are then able to review the design online before we send it away to be printed and constructed by hand by our favourite album creators.

We hope you enjoy a bit more of a look into one of our Flush mounted Art Albums.
