{Central West Wedding Photography} Eliza and Steve’s Cullen Bullen Country Wedding.

Hey, did you know that we love country weddings? Well we do! We love the wide open spaces, the big blue sky, jumping in a 4WD with the bride and groom (yup – we’re totally up for some 4WDing if you’re up for it!) and anything else that we can do to capture the uniqueness of your chosen venue.

In this case, Eliza and Steve’s wedding was held on Steve’s family’s working farm not too far from Lithgow in a town called Cullen Bullen. We had lovely weather and of course those big blue skies. There were hay bales, cows, a convoy of 4WD’s, rustic wooden signs, an old milk tin wishing well, a big ole shed where guests ate at long table adored with baby’s breath and of course country romance! You could not ask for much else!

We’d like to thank Eliza and Steve for choosing us to capture their day – it was such a pleasure!  So without further adieu, here’s some of our favourites from their day…

{Hunter Valley Wedding Photography} Matthew and Hayley marry at Peppers Creek Chapel and Lindemans Winery

What an amazing way to start off 2014!

We had been looking forward to Hayley and Matthew’s wedding for a long time as we had a feeling it was going to be awesome… and it was! Now Hayley and Matt and would classify themselves as nerds – Matt is a scientist and Hayley manages a vintage store – they are little bit crazy, a little bit quirky and a whole lotta fun!

As photographers, it’s our job to capture the day and seek out details that make each wedding and each couple a little different. So as someone who was there to witness Hayley and Matt’s wedding, these are some things that I loved about their day…

- Hayley’s Darth Vader slippers that she wore as long as she could before putting on her wedding shoes

- The adorably cute (and so different) buttonholes the guys wore created by Everything floral

- The brooch bouquets – also by Everything Floral

- The fact that each of the girls had their own unique gown of their choice in shades of white – and hairpieces too!

- Their heartfelt ceremony and a groom (yep, that’s you Matt) that wasn’t afraid to shed a tear – oh and Hayley was crying too ;)

- That we got to go to quite a few locations that were within minutes from each other 1. A dusty country road 2. A quiet lakeside 3. A random green shed 4. The courtyard at Lindemans (which has great wooden textures) and finally 5. A vineyard

- The surprise fireworks that Hayley and Matt kept secret from all their guests!!

But really, I should just show you how awesome their wedding was!

{Blue Mountains Wedding Photography} Wes and Alyssa marry at Kihilla, Lawson

On a warm summer’s day, at the end of December Wesley and Alyssa were married in Lawson, in the Blue Mountains of NSW. The wedding was held at Kihilla, a gorgeous historic homestead and conference centre and this was where Wesley and his groomsmen prepared for the ceremony. Alyssa got ready at a friends house near by and spent the morning relaxing. It was a heartfelt ceremony officiated by friends with blessing and readings by family friends. The couples musician friends, Ash & Hilary MacCartney performed hymns throughout the ceremony and there was even a special didgeridoo performance!

After a morning tea with their guests and a coffee from a cafe2u van (these guys love their coffee), we headed out to local a local Wentworth Falls lookout for some spectacular photos, followed by more on site back at Kihilla. Everyone enjoyed a relaxed afternoon with lunch with the couple and a parting gift from some of their friends – their car was decorated in glad wrap :)

We hope you enjoy these images from the day…

Ru and Dan’s Kangaroo Valley Wedding at Minimbah Farm Cottages

On a warm summers day Ru and Dan were married at a beautiful venue in Kangaroo Valley – Minimbah Farm Cottages.
If you’re a regular reader of our blog you know that we love to photograph weddings that really represent who a couple are and this wedding was filled with personal details. The ceremony was decorated with gorgeous hand made touches – lace dream catchers and vases filled with freshly picked roses wrapped in lace. The guests were seated on hay bales covered in picnic rugs to give the view of the kangaroo valley even more of a country feel. The ceremony itself included some Sri Lankan traditions.

It was our first time at the farm and we enjoyed discovering new locations on the property. Minimbah has a gorgeous little creek, some stock yards, rolling hills and of course that great Kangaroo Valley view!!  It certainly is a lovely choice for a country wedding in the Southern Highlands.

So without further adieu, here are some images from Ru and Dan’s wedding…

{Kangaroo Valley Wedding Photography} Ben and Lauren get married at Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat

Ben and Lauren were married on a warm day in November in Kangaroo Valley.

There is something about our couples from the Central West… they just know how to have a good time!! Ben and Lauren come from Bathurst and seriously brought the fun! Apart from loving to have a good time they also love their music, Ben even serenaded Lauren as she walked down the isle. There was more live music during the ceremony, the bridal danced their way through the photoshoot and they entered the reception and had an impromtu dance party before they had even sat down.

Lauren’s Pronovias gown was imported from Italy and I swear I have never seen a dress with so much detail – it was truly spectacular. Paired with Ben’s navy suit and bow tie, they made an absolutely stunning couple. There were plenty of DIY elements to the day and at a venue like the Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat there is plenty of opportunity to create whatever DIY goodness your heart desires. Ben and Lauren and many helpers spent the day before and the morning of the wedding setting the scene with vases of roses and baby’s breath, hessian and lace table runners creating a look  I like to call country elegance.

It was a spectacular day and we are seriously grateful to be able to capture such amazing weddings for such awesome couples. We’d like to say a huge thank you Lauren and Ben for sharing your day with us and an even bigger CONGRATULATIONS on getting married.

{Camden Wedding Photography} Matt and Emma at Burnham Grove

We’re slowly working our way through sharing the weddings we photographed November and December last year. Today we have a lovely wedding we photographed and filmed in the Macarthur region of Sydney.

You may remember Emma and Matt from their engagement shoot we shared late last year, or maybe from their cute engagement video we filmed at one of our favourite locations here in Penrith?

For their wedding Emma and Matt were married in St Johns Anglican at Camden and celebrated with family and friends at Burnham Grove reception in Cawdor (not far from Camden). Emma looked stunning in her gorgeous princess gown and her groom Matt looked handsome in a classic black and white suit.
The reception was decorated by Emma’s family and they did an amazing job which was complimented by adorable flowers from the lovely Jennie from Marci Bouquet.

Now I’m sure that you’re aware that we now offer video and we were able to capture some lovely footage at Matt and Emma’s wedding – so make sure that you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the images and watch the video too!

{Southern Highlands Wedding Photography} Dean and Arlie at Briars, Bowral

We photographed a few weddings at the end of last year that we haven’t shared with you yet and it’s about time we did. I’d like to start things rolling with Dean and Arlie…
Arlie and Dean were married on a lovely spring day, late 2013 at Briars Country Lodge and Inn, in the Southern Highlands NSW.
We just love an outdoor ceremony and this one was held lakeside underneath some beautiful trees. Arlie’s Pronovias lace gown paired with the flower crown and long veil created such an impact that the guests, not to mention the groom, were sighing at the sight of her. Dean and Arlie created a gorgeous atmosphere with lots of handmade wedding details including recycled paper cones containing rose petals that were handed out to guests on arrival (I have to say we love it when guests shower the bride and groom with petals or confetti – it always makes for fun photos); the handmade doily bunting (hundreds of metres of bunting!!) that was put together by Arlie’s Nan that adorned the reception and the cake was made by her Nan’s friend; the table numbers were photos of Arlie’s beloved family dog Ruben holding numbered chalkboards – what a creative idea and a great way to include pets who may not be able to attend the ceremony.
Today we are sharing more images than usual but that’s just because we loved this wedding sooo much!! We hope you enjoy them xx
