{Southern Highlands Wedding} Sarah and James get married at Briars Country Lodge Bowral

Sarah and James travelled all the way from South Australia to plan an intimate winery style wedding and when they discovered Briars they knew they had found the perfect place for their wedding. James and Sarah invited their friends and family to share in this intimate wedding in Bowral and I think they all fell in love with this gorgeous venue.

Sarah was dressed in a gorgeous white, lace gown and if you look closely you may notice it had split in the front – it was really adorable – not to mention the ivory  bow that tied in the back. Sarah’s bouquet was from the team at Merci Bouquet – they always do such lovely work and Sarah gave them the freedom to create magic with her choice of flowers. James wore a classic 3 piece suit in black, as did his groomsmen.

From the beginning of the ceremony you could tell how much these two were in love and they didn’t stop looking adoringly at each other all day. With the ceremony taking place lakeside at Briars and the reception only a few steps away, we decided to stay at the venue and make the most of all it had to offer. As with every wedding and wedding party, we wanted to make sure that we kept the location shoot fun and casual. Sarah and James have awesome friends and needless to say they made for a fun bridal party – which made for plenty of laughs – just how we like it!

We are really excited to share these images with you and of course for Sarah and James to see a sneak peek at their wedding images before their package arrives later this week. We’d also like to say a big congratulations to you both – Sarah and James, we wish you all the happiness in the world and we hope that the rest of your lives together are just as beautiful as your wedding day xxx

{Sydney Beach Wedding} Sarah and Shirleene get married at Balmoral Beach

When we turned up to photograph Shirleene and Sarah’s wedding day, we were in heaven. The amazing property they had hired for themselves and their friends to get ready in was filled interesting curio’s that made for great backdrops and then of course you can’t go wrong by spending the afternoon at Balmoral Beach.  In fact, the whole day was pretty spectacular – a heartfelt commitment ceremony surrounded by family and friends, a harpist playing an acoustic versions of songs including a lovely version of Cyndi Lauper’s True Colours and a beautiful setting sun as a backdrop. We will remember this wedding for a long time to come!

Shirleene and Sarah we wish you all the best for the future and hope you have an amazing life together. It was a honour to be there to share such a special day with you. xx

{Sydney tourist session} Allison and Luke’s Sydney Portrait Session

We love Sydney and we love the opportunity to photograph people in this stunning city we live in. We know what it’s like to visit a city and want to capture yourself in the iconic locations. We can recommend the places we feel represent Sydney, places like Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour, walking around The Rocks historic area and maybe even a ferry ride. We’ve got plenty of ideas to help you celebrate this city and capture memories.

For Allison and Luke, they are leaving Sydney and wanted to capture themselves having fun in the city that they love so much. For their session we met up with them in Circular Quay and caught a ferry across to Luna Park. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon after a couple of weeks of rainy weather so the city was packed with people. We know that by having these images, they will be able to remember their time in Sydney fondly.

Want your own Sydney session? Get in contact with us and we can suggest some locations!!

{Hawkesbury Wedding Photography} Cara and Adam tie the knot at Cornwallis House!

We’re so happy to share this adorable Hawkesbury wedding with you!

Imagine a private property set amongst orange trees and alongside the Hawkesbury River, with rustic wooden fences and shed walls – situated on a quiet country road – not to mention the homestead with it’s dramatic staircase and decorative verandahs. That property is Cornwallis House. Adam and Cara had planned for an outdoor ceremony but due to unpredictable weather the ceremony was held underneath the balcony of Cornwallis House, looking out over the river. The property was adorned with lots of DIY details including handmade bunting, hand painted signs and a wedding march made from ladders.

Cara and her bridesmaids got ready within the property and Adam and his groomsmen were at the nearby Sebel in Windsor. Cara and Adam’s little son got ready with the girls and it was adorable seeing him all dressed in his little tux with bow tie! He walked his mum down the isle, along with Cara’s proud father towards a beaming groom. After the ceremony, all the guests gathered for a group photo from the balcony and then we wandered around the property for photographs.

We had fun with gumboots, posed with umbrella’s – oh and the guys had to have a photo with the tractor! but my favourite location was the orange trees – you might be able to tell as there’s a few images below of Adam and Cara amongst the tress. I’m too excited to share these with you – I can’t wait any longer. Please enjoy these images from Adam and Cara’s wedding.

{Blue Mountains Wedding} Melanie and Frank get married at Chapel Hill!

Melanie and Frank held a gorgeous winter wedding at Chapel Hill Retreat in Berambing. It was another cool winter day and we had umbrella’s handy but luckily the rain mostly held out.

Melanie’s gown and veil were from Spurlings Penrith and bridesmaids gowns were from Rosy Fancy Workshop. The Groom and Groomsmen suits were from The Gentleman’s Club in Chatswood and the classic white rose bouquets were from Unique Floral Creations. The colour theme for the day was red and white and the bridesmaids wore red gowns with a white wrap to compliment Melanie’s white lace gown. Family and friends gathered on the balcony for the ceremony while Frank insisted that Melanie should make him wait at least 15 minutes as per tradition. Melanie was indeed fashionably late and just as she arrived, the sun came out. The ceremony was officiated by Frank’s brother in law which made it even more personal.

Congratulations Melanie and Frank. We hope you have many, many years of happiness in the future! xx

Blue Mountains Wedding at Seclusions, Rydal. Katie and Dom DIY Wedding.

Wow! What a wedding this was. Plenty of DIY – Bunting, Transport to the ceremony (yep this was DIY), personally created gifts for each guest and some pretty impressive lighting set ups.

Katie and Dom held their winter wedding in country Rydal at a property called Seclusions, near Lithgow. Katie was relaxed beside the fireplace in The Bakery while being primped and preened while Dom readied himself in one of the cabins on the property. It was a cool day but Katie and Dom and supplied blankets for their guests to keep warm during their open air ceremony. The rain threatened but luckily it held out and the guests definitely used those blankets.

When it came to the ceremony, Katie had a surprise for Dom. She wanted to lighten the mood and get her groom smiling so she created 2 bridal cars for her bridesmaids and her to arrive in. These cars were made of paper and pvc pipe (yes that’s right!!) One was blue for the bridesmaids and Katie chose a traditional white for her and her father drive… ahem carry. I was so impressed with her creativity that we had to make use of these cars again later for our photoshoot! Needless to say, it did have Dom smiling and laughing in disbelief lol. What an arrival!!

Katie wore a Mia Solano gown from Luv Bridal in Artarmon and her bridesmaids wore gowns by Lisa Brown. Dom and his groomsmen wore suits from Northshore Tailors. The ceremony was presided by Ralph Esthery from Break Thru Church and it was intimate and personal.

After the ceremony guests enjoyed cocktails on the lawns and kept warm by playing lawn games like giant jenga, giant checkers and giant connect 4. When the sky began to darken the set up truly shone – courtesy of Dom’s handy electrical worked, he did a fabulous job on the lighting which included spot lights and festoon lighting. The couple held speeches under this spectacular scene before inviting guests into the reception for more celebration.

We were so thankful that Katie and Dom chose us to share this day with them and we can’t wait to share the video from their wedding day once it’s complete. So stay tuned and check back soon.  Also I’d like to say a huge thanks to Toni Hutchinson who photographed with us on the day while Ben was taking video footage.

Congratulations Katie and Dom!!

Update: We’ve finished Katie and Dom’s wedding video. It’s fun, it’s heart felt and we’d love you to watch it. Check out our vimeo link here.

Angelica Peady Maternity Portraits in Western Sydney

Claire is a photographer friend of mine, who I went to high school with – so we go way back! I was so happy when she contacted me about a maternity shoot with her family and of course, as you might imagine, with two photographers there were plenty of creative ideas floating around! Being a photographer Claire owns lots of props and she wanted to have her own photographs with these amazing Poppy and Rose tulle skirts – they are stunning. I wanted to do floral crowns – so I contacted my florist friend who loves floral crowns – Jenny at Merci Bouquet and she supplied us with the gorgeous, fresh floral crowns you will see later in the post. We picked our location – one of my favourites and we were lucky enough to pick a day with a lovely afternoon glow. Of course I can’t wait to share these images with you and I hope you enjoy them.

Update: I’m happy to announce that Claire and her family welcomed little Charlie in July 2014. You can view the images of their most recent shoot here. Do you have a maternity idea you’d like to bring to life? We’d love to help you capture such a special time in your life and we’ve got plenty of ideas on how to do this. Why not get in contact and lets start brainstorming!
