Personal
I have one more post from our US trip and I have been saving the best ’til last!
We love a good road trip – throughout our time in the states we travelled many miles and this was a fabulous way to end our trip.
We stayed in the lovely little seaside towns of Monterey Bay and Morro Bay which were spectacular!! They really are romantic seaside towns and have an air of an era gone by – think family holidays by the sea
The thought just makes me smile
We stopped in at cute little beaches, saw loads of driftwood, visited Santa Cruz, took some exclusive beachside drives and saw a beach made of massive pebbles – aptly named ‘Pebble Beach’.
Looking at all these photographs, I can’t wait to do some more road trippin but you know next time… I think we have our sights set on a different continent

We visited a few national parks when we were in the states and we happened to visit them in National Park Week – which meant most of the entry to the parks we visited were free!!! Good timing huh?
In this post I’m sharing images from Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park and Yosemite National Park – they were all spectacular!!!
Most of the amazing landscapes were taken by Ben – he was the one who got up in the freezing cold of dawn to take most of the photographs you see below. He was the one who came across a bear in Yosemite National Park (he looks tiny in the pics but I still say ‘thank good ness it wasn’t me!!’) and who braved icy waterfalls – you can see actual ice in the river… it really was freezing

We drove from San Diego to Las Vegas on our way to some of the Canyons. We decided to take the scenic route which then became a little challenging as our navigator decided to spit the dummy. So we travelled old school – with limited maps we stopped many times and asked for directions. We drove through Joshua Tree National Park and through the Mojave Dessert. Thank goodness the people we met on the way were so helpful and their directions were good!! Finally in the dark of night we saw the lights of Primm – a smaller version of Vegas, just over the Nevada border.
Here’s a few images of Joshua Tree NP.

We love San Diego!!! The people are lovely. The city is a little more relaxed and it kinda reminded us of Sydney.
The wildflowers are amazing – they grow along the roadside, they are planted in planters streetside, they grow on hills beside the freeways and on the rocks along the coast. It really is beautiful! They have inspired me to add similar plants in our backyard, so when I’m chilling on the back deck I will remember San Diego
Here’s a few photographs from our stay in SD
