Finally I get to share Matt and Mel’s fabulous wedding with you.
Such a gorgeous local autumn wedding – there is certainly something special about the afternoon lighting in autumn – it was truly beautiful. The ceremony and the reception were held at The Log Cabin Inn, Penrith with a little detour via the Weir. Matt and Mel picked a great location for the ceremony, overlooking the Nepean River and the timing of the ceremony was perfect as the setting sun added a lovely golden hue over everything.
Matt and Mel live on The Gold Coast but Mel grew up in Penrith – I actually went to the same school as Mel and was in the same year as her sister Kerrie (who was one of the bridesmaids.) Lesley (Mel’s mum) had arranged a surprise limo to take the girls to the venue – the first image is Mel’s look of surprise and can’t you just hear Lesley saying ‘da-dah’?
I love that Matt and Mel are so easy going and adventurous – they were willing to go cross country to get to the location that we had envisioned ever since we started talking about their wedding plans last year.
Congratulations again to you both and I look forward to catching up with you next time we’re on The Gold Coast.

This is a another shoot that has been photographed in 2 parts. The first part I can share with you now but part II will be featured later in the year as part of a series and is still very hush hush. If you want to know more, make sure you are signed up to receive the latest updates from our website.
We started the day at a fabulous location that Chris and Tawny chose – since we had planned to spend the day in the mountains they decided to make a weekend of it and stayed at Parklands in Blackheath. Not only does Parklands have gorgeous rooms but they have 30 acres of woodlands – so how could we not take a walk to start the shoot? Very romantic and autumny!
(everything about the 2nd location must stay secret for now)
Then we headed to our 3rd location in Lithgow. I have to say we were trully blessed by the weather on this day. The big blue skies were just amazing and made for even more dramatic photographs.
I would like to say a big thank you to Chris and Tawny for being so adventurous and understanding that climbing on top of a huge chunk of metal can really work!! They took my direction really well and just trusted me and what I was trying to achieve.
Also, a big thanks to everyone else who helped out on the day:

A special thanks to Louisa for looking so gorgeous, to Tahlia for Makeup (contact Tahlia on tahlswellie@iprimus.com.au) and Jaylee for her work on the hair.

Last week Ben and I began photographing our first in a series of bridal photo shoots we have planned for the year. We are soooo excited because we have some hot! hot! images in store. You can’t imagine how happy we are, that after months of planning to have actually begun taking the photographs. An in depth series of images from each of our photo shoots will be shared around mid 2010.
But how mean would I be if I did not share a sneak peek with you from our underwater shoot? This is one of my favourite images. I can’t wait to show you the underwater images but they are staying secret for now.
